Talkr Releases a Tool to ?Read? Blogs Through Your mp3 Player
"I was once the proud owner of a 3-hour daily commute" says Chris Brooks, CEO of Talkr.
"I spent a great deal of time trying to find interesting audio for the hours I spent in my car.
Ironically, I did this while most of the world complained of information overload.
There was no end of interesting text available -- I just couldn't read it while I drove." Brooks' company has just released a new service to address that problem.Talkr targets the 11% of the US adult population that owns an mp3 player.
Talkr monitors blogs and major news sites and converts those written-word stories into spoken-word audio or "podcasts".
Talkr's customers can then configure their desktop computers to retrieve those files automatically and load them onto their mp3 players.
They can bring their mp3 player with them during their commute or while they exercise."Not everyone wants to listen to commercial radio ? NPR has proven that for decades" says Brooks.
